is an excellent free PDA or web-based program. It allows you to check formulary information
for some but not all of Hawaii's health plans (HMSA/HMSA Quest, AlohaCare, etc. You can also
subscribe($99+/year) to get additional services.
GENERIC DRUGS
If you want to learn more about generic drugs, www.theunadvertisedbrand.com
is a useful website from the BlueCross BlueShield of Michigan
with information for patients and physicians.
COMPARING DRUGS
Consumer Reports - Best Buy Drugs is an easy-to-use free website that compares
certain drugs (e.g. for treating high cholesterol, hypertension, etc.) on effectiveness, cost, and side-effects.
Their reports are
based on literature reviews done by the Oregon Health Sciences University.
